Default PMC AML2 Compact Active Loudspeakers

The PMC AML1 obtained international acclaim as one of the best compact active loudspeakers available. The true analogue circuitry design of the amplifier offered unsurpassed performance via the custom PMC series flat Nomex 6 inch LF driver and the ultra powerful 32mm HF fitted with wide angle dispersion.

The new PMC AML2 takes the design further with newly introduced micro engineered EQ tilt circuitry, enhanced power supply layouts, revised cabinet structure with additional damping and subtly revised cosmetics.

This no compromise design offers performance that cannot be matched by any other speaker of a similar size and volume, the unique driver arrangement with a crossover point of only 1400hz enables the AML to deliver astoundingly accurate portrayal of any music or speech. The PMC AML2 is bi-amplified with 100 watts on the woofer in a transmission line cabinet, and 80 watts on the soft dome tweeter. Street price around $10K.

A good preamp, CD player or music server, turntable and and a pair of these bi-amped PMC AML2 speakers would make a damn good sound system.

‎"The AML2's just scared me" says Dave Schiffman, world renowned music engineer.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, LimpBizkit, Nine Inch Nails, Alanis Morrisette, System of a Down, Rage against the Machine, Audioslave, Weezer and Johnny Cash have all benefited from the production and engineering skills of Dave Schiffman. Dave was working in the Village Studios in Santa Monica, when he was introduced to the two way active AML2’s.

“I wish I could say I loved listening to the AML2's the first time, but I didn't…they scared the sh*t out of me!”. “They are bluntly honest and unforgiving”. He added the AML2's are astounding in their accuracy and there is no sugarcoating to them - A hype-free zone”

“But once I understood this, I fell in love. Now, I can't work without them. They give me the confidence to know exactly what I'm hearing is what's going to tape. No more compensation for the monitors or car checks!”

Dave’s recent album projects include: Active Child ‘You are all I see’, Cass McCombs ‘Wit’s End’, and Thrice ‘Major/Minor’ and Limp Bizkit’s Cobra’ album.
These are mighty fine speakers but in context of a home hifi setup you would need to be very careful in choosing your source component/front end!

Consider yourself lucky.....

At least two or more older threads. First thread was around May or June 2009.
