Many of the better cable companies make phono cables just for your turntable. I am not sure that Furutech's are better or worse than some of the others.

You need to listen to what your table sounds like first...

If you are getting the TT-2 straight track arm (as you mentioned), the cable is fixed to that arm. And it's a very good one.

Think of the tonearm cable like adjusting the tire pressure on your sports car. That's the last place you can slightly fine tune the overall sound, if your table has that ability. The silver arrow is just a touch on the bright/resolving side. (works great with Koetsu's and Dynavectors) The Furutech AG-12 is copper and a bit more mellow which might be just what the doctor ordered with your DaVinci, which is pretty resolving.

Another good reason not to spend a shitload of money on a cartridge, or get that 2nd tonearm until you decide on which phono preamp you are going to use, etc. etc. so that you can fine tune the overall balance to what you like.

Analog is not a place to just throw buckets of money at things hoping they will sound good. Unfortunately, this part of the equation requires a lot of patience, trial and error. (before you throw buckets of money at things...)

Both of the preamps you are auditioning won't sound their best until they have at least 500 hours on them, so a premature change in cartridge and/or cable might not sound like you think it is going to until then.

I'd put at least 500 hours on the rig, then spend a fair amount of time listening to your favorite recordings, so you even know what changes you want to make....

But then, I've been chasing the analog rabbit for 35 years now.

Silver tends to emphasize the upper mids and highs in general... Like Jeff mentioned, if needed use it.

Furutech is nice, but don't think it's up to WW's standard if you go for Gold/Platinum Eclipse.
