They appear to be Pass Labs stereo amps with XS styling and no separate power supply. Perhaps lower powered XS Series Stereo Amplifiers? Seems like there's a potential niche there.

Among the few and proud that can afford a $65K stereo amp (not I), WHO THE HECK is going to say "nah, I'd better save that last 20% of cost and settle for HALF the power".

I KNOW that's not how you guys here roll!

The amps in the photos are .8 series prototypes. Please see my new thread for a full explanation.

From Pass:

The amps at the Tokyo show are prototypes of new amps we will introduce at CES. These are in between the current X.5's and the Xs amps. The point 5's will remain in production along side the Xs amps and the new point 8's.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Desmond.

I agree. I think the XA.5 serie, especially the XA100.5 are stunning. Amongst the most beautiful amps.

I agree Toga. The faceplate on the XA.5s is much more attractive than the XA.8s. I do prefer the vertically oriented heatsinks to the horizontal ones though.

+1. The XAs are a great looking industrial design. When I listen to my system I get as much visual satisfaction as I do auditory.

So why that black ring... I just don't get it.
What .5 needed is the ability to dim or off the bright LED in the meter, but not this giant black o-ring in Xs or .8 design.
Toga.
