No, i don't think it is missing on top but the Colibri was outstanding in this regard. I didn't really AB them for obvious reasons. I spent a while adjusting the VTA so it had the right balance of upper end and lower end and it sound great. I used to not use the damping fluid at all. Conrad Mas of Avid advises against it saying it kills the top end. I'll have to experiment a little more!

Absolutely, 1/4 turn up or down goes from bloated to thin and tinny!
