Thx for the reply. I know that I can easily get the washers, nuts, and bolts. Spikes sound easy enough to order, I know how to weld and all the equipment is available to me along with a drill press. I think I can make this happen. Would love to see a pic with your gear on it.

I also looked heavily into building the blocks myself, but with the price of maple at my local yard it was cheaper just to buy them done.

It seems to me that the racks from Rix Rax would be the most stable of all as the parts are all welded together. Unfortunately this means that nothing is adjustable.
