Default Grandioso K1X

And now PS1 arrived.

https://online.stereosound.co.jp/_ct/17333073

Two transformer inside K1X will remain active for digital and disc drive. Two for analog will be shut off. 4 new transformer in PS1 will drive only analog part of K1X, two per channel. One before DAC and one for circuit after DAC.

So.. bad news.. we will need one extra power cord.IMG_9184.jpg
Picture for concept of extra ps1 , I may highlight the wrong sets of Tr, but it will work like this.

Thank you,

You bought it without comparing the two?

The KIX will sound different, for sure, but will it be better? That's the question I ask myself before replacing my K1.

The S/N of 113dB vs 120 dB surprises me a little bit

Thank you for posting this....there is other very interesting info in the article and when translated....

"At the same time, we will start accepting the upgrade service "VUK-K1PS1" from March 1 to enable the Grandioso PS1 compatible SACD / CD player "Grandioso K1". The price here is $ 150,000 (excluding tax)."

"* Details of the upgrade service "VUK-K1PS1"
VUK-K1PS1 is a service that adds a DC power input terminal that enables the Grandioso K1 to be compatible with the Grandioso PS1. The upgrade process itself will be carried out once the user's favorite machine is left to the Esoteric side. The service will start in late April."

The other interesting thing is the K1X (and guessing K1 upgraded) only require 2 DC umbilical inputs.

There are 4 outputs on the new power supply....

Wondering what other upgrades/new products they have in mind :-) wondering is P-02Xs and D-02X, each
having ability to leverage this supply or something else is coming?????

This is great news for anyone invested in a K1...

It's going to get very expensive, K1X + PS1 + power cord + possibly a Clock.

I almost purchased K1 to replace Luxman D08u, just a day before Hong Kong show, the K1X was debuted, with MQA decoding capability and also read MQA-CD. I wanted this MQA capability so I chose K1X. Later Luxman also introduce
D10X to replace D08u. D10X is MQA CD/SACD as well.

Based on many review of P1XD1X, which make huge improvement over
P1D1. I am sure K1X will be improved as well. I heard K1X sounded more elegant, but less dynamic.
Later I compared them side by side in Japan, with F03A and Tannoy Sp.
see my previous post.

In this way then it work just similar to CH Precision.
CH use two cords too, but not for L R purpose, but to separate between
audio and control circuit. MOON 820s power supply also separate DC output
for digital and analog circuits, but share same power cable.
