The R1s are 340 hours in and strutting their stuff definitively, continuing to open up more and more every couple days of burn-in. Bass is now super-tight, articulate and accurate with extension and depth here that is making me very happy. The measure of any speaker is not just bass but the total spectrum.

The R1s have amazing mids and highs with gorgeous transient rendering in all frequency bands, wonderful spatial presentation, air around instruments, ultra-precise imaging and soundstaging in all 3 dimensions. I am hearing notes, instruments, voices and overall ensembles in amazing and new ways. The sheer mass and density of the cabinets on these is very impressive; seems to contribute further to the rock-solid and accurate rendition of every single note.

Extremely happy here with every aspect of how the system is and sounds,...

Over 425 hours on the R1s of detailed break-in.....they have hit their stride so to speak and bass has tightened up further, presence in the room both on-axis in that ultra-wide 3-seat sweet spot and off axis and anywhere in the house the sound reaches is off the charts. Very happy with results with these heavyweight contenders for the 'one of the world's best speakers...' category. Anyone contemplating them, contact me for some candid discussion of what I've heard along the way and what I'm hearing as they've fully opened up. After that, only one thing to do,...get a pair!
