0-60, while pointless unless at a dragstrip, is always good for "my car/that car" is faster conversation but in reality says nothing about the overall driving experience of a car.
The electrics cars and modern launch control on many cars have raised that benchmark into the stratosphere for sure.
I recall doing a few pulls on the highway when I had a Nissan GTR and the 360 Challenge Stradale. I was driving the Stradale and my son the GTR. The Stradale had a 125hp deficit but a 1,000 lb weight advantage so it was an interesting experiment. While the GTR, at just under 3 sec 0-60 with its launch control, would destroy the Stradale in a 0-60, as the experiment showed, the 1000 lb advantage more than overcame the 125hp deficit on the highway.
Not even close, Stradale pulled away consistently. While on paper the 545hp sounds so much better than 425hp, the HP to weight ratio is still more important. The GTR is 7.06 at 3850 lb and the Stradale is 6.7 at 2850 lb
On the back roads the Stradale felt more like it was 4000 lbs lighter.
Reactive, nimble, alive and always looking for ways to kill me was the Stradale.
The GTR was mostly yawning on the back roads. While extremely capable and balanced, the GTR also felt much heavier and less thrilling. That turn at twice the speed of what you are used to? "Bring it on, I can do that" was the GTR's motto!
