I have a sneaky feeling that if the GTS were equip with proper Cup 2 tires and more aggressive GT3 spec alignment that it would equal or even perhaps beat the RS time.

The thing about the 911 is that it isn't always the fast car. Corvettes have ALWAYS been very close or even faster and when you add in $ to the factor, the needle tilts in the Vettes favor, IF that is all you are after. Personally, the 911 drives like no other car. The driving dynamics are just so incredible and joyful. My old man father has an AMG SL55 that he has had for a while and it only has like 6,000 miles on the thing. He drove my brothers 991 2S and immediately opened his computer and started looking for another car (he kept the SL, since the resale on that car is in the pot, and makes more sense to keep the dang thing). Not long after, he found the perfect build and purchased the vehicle. It isn't all just about "speed" but you it gets there. I have never felt this in any corvette I have drive (and believe me, I am not opposed to saving money). I felt a similar but slightly different characteristics driving a Ferrari 360 and an NSX. A lot of it has to do with the rear or mid engine layout that feels very similar to my race kart and something that no front engine format can replicate.

A lot of people think that the only reason that people drive the 911 is as a status thing, but little do they know why until they actually drive one. Its like home audio, you can try and convince someone that a premier audio system is better than the $500 receiver all day long, but until they experience it, they will never believe you

I can actually go away with the Z06 too as it has a usable trunk, run flat tires so I don't have to worry about being stranded. The magnetic ride suspension is the same one that is in the Ferrari. Ok Flame on
Rod / Dave,

You both make compelling arguments and I see both sides and actually agree with both. To me both Porsche and Corvette represent superb automobiles. To that, I'll keep my '67 BB ....

I traded my 08 Z06 for this 2014 Turbo S.
Stock pics, but mine is almost identical.
Thank God to depreciation!!

Lovely color combo. I'm a sucker for red leather interiors.

Finally got a chance to wash the car.
Liking the new front grill I installed, to protect the center radiator.
Why Porsche never designed this is a mystery to me?

Nice car! It looks like a reptile waiting in the weeds to attack.
