These Common Household Products Can Destroy the Novel Coronavirus -CR
`
CR shows you how to use them and tells you which products to stay away from Editor’s Note: This story, originally published March 9, 2020, was updated to include additional information about bleach tablets, tea tree oil, and retailers’ inventory of disinfectants and other supplies. https://www.consumerreports.org/clea...omc_engagewkly "The overbuying caused the supply chain to short-circuit,” says Burt Flickinger, managing director at Strategic Resource Group, a retail and consumer goods consulting firm. “It took a few weeks for the manufacturing plants to catch up, but brands such as Clorox, 3M, and Procter & Gamble will be fulfilling 75 percent of their orders in the next week.” He estimates that store shelves and Amazon should be restocked with cleaning products within the first two weeks of April. You may still have a hard time finding hand sanitizer, however. Purell announced March 24 that shipments of hand sanitizer will be prioritized to workers deemed critical by the federal government, including healthcare workers, first responders, and grocers. And toilet paper and paper towels will continue to be scarce. “The paper companies are struggling to meet demand,” Flickinger says. “They’re supplying about 25 percent of what retailers are ordering.” Your best bet is to ask the store manager when the trucks make their deliveries and be there when they’re unloading." .

Using vodka does NOT seem like a cost-effective way to clean the kitchen! and according to the article, it doesn't work.
I have Lysol wipes that i've been using, and honestly I am not positive that those do the job either, since they aren't the clorox ones. Update: After reading the article again, it does mention Lysol in passing, but it doesn't say for sure that it works. Since it does say that even soap and water works, but you have to scrub hard, I assume the Lysol works fine as long as the scrubbing is hard enough. Here’s the official EPA list of products that are effective against Covid-19. Marc, your Lysol is on the list, but it says 10 minutes of contact required.

An order for 4 Qts. of 95% isopropyl alcohol ordered from Amazon 21 days ago finally arrived yesterday via FedEx. I've paid a lot more than $57 for shipping before (not from Amazon) but never for an item that sold for $57. Nor has anything taken 20 days. In other words, $57+$57=$114 paid Edit: 99.5+% .

It looks like from the list that ordinary household bleach will work. Am I right?

I'm using re fills from work; of course I'd rather not have to go to work in the first place.

the CDC website has a recipe using 1/3 cup of bleach with a gallon of water. I spray the mail with it.
