Yes even at retail which is not likely. With the Mini you supply the storage yourself, with the Altair it is an option when ordering and with the Innous it is for ripping and you choose how much. I guess you can also include the Bluesound Node 2 but I tested it and the Aries Mini against each other and sent the Node 2 back. Not a fan though there are a lot of them. The cheapest option at $500 with good software is the Mini and it can run wired/wireless.

Had to step out for a bit and just finished ready all the new responses. All really good information and suggestions that have allowed me to get a better grasp on things. I like things simple so a "one box" solution would be best. Will continue to read up and research units and look forward to any additional information or advise anyone has.

Don, as others have said, there are some great streamer options that work over WiFi, like the Auralic Aries, Aurilic Mini, and Moon Mind already recommended. Any of those would get you started with a good basic streaming system, with one box feeding your Luxman, under your budget, and no extra hassle.

Roon is a wonderful thing, but if you buy a device like the Aries that is also a Roon endpoint, you can always add it later. I wouldn’t make the Roon investment until you’ve spent some time streaming and decide you’re hooked, and build a little knowledge and confidence. Also if you just end up streaming Tidal and don’t rip your cds and go all in, Roon may be more than you’ll ever need.

Enjoy the ride.

The Oppo 203 has digital OUT but not IN. If you want to spend more money on the "audiophile" grade Oppo, the 205 model will offer more features. The Oppo 205 model is Stereophile Class A rated player for SACD/CD by the way.
is it gapless? I did not see this info on their website.

I have not played around with it or ran into that situation yet but there is a gapless playback setting in the setup menu.

As I've been researching units I have another question. For a unit that's not already WiFi equipped: Can I simply add a USB port antenna?

It will depend on the the particular server. If it was a standard PC/Mac/Linux box, the answer would probably be Yes.

Thanks for the reply Kal, is there something I can look for in the unit's spec's to know?
