Default Hot and topless Japanese exotica - lots and lots of pics

Yesterday I replaced my Salamander rack with a much more classic looking cabinet (not audiophile grade by any means) but I liked the looks of it.

So I took the opportunity to take some photos of my listening room - including some close-ups of the topless Shindo Montille with its tubes glowing nice and hot - sorry if the thread title mislead you and this is not what you were looking for.

Enjoy ...

<< PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DON'T QUOTE THE PHOTOS IN ANY REPLIES SINCE THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM - LOTS OF SCROLLING >>

First my listening position (note the classic Gold-Toe socks - they add warmth to the system - and feet):

Next a close up of the awsome Tannoy concentric speaker (with gear in the background):

From another angle:

Pulling back a little (close to my actual listening position):

McIntosh digital + Shindo Analog = Audio Heaven:

The Montille in heat (yes, I just noticed that the tubes are a bit tilted):

More tubes in heat:

And one more - close up this time:

Alberto

Fantastic Alberto. I feel the warmth and the sweetness of those tubes just by looking at your pics.

I have seen your beeeyootiful equipment before, but now I notice you have speakers right next to your turntable. Are they hooked up? If so, how's that workin' out for ya?

Hi Beans,

Those are monitor speakers for casual/background listening (e.g. radio or Pandora) while I work or read. Even though the Shindo equipment runs the tubes very gently, I prefer not to use them up if all I am doing is having some low-level background music.

Besides, getting anything done while the main system (Shindo + Tannoy) is playing is next to impossible - it keeps grabbing your attention and you get nothing done .

Thanks Pete, I designed the room and system to be delicious in sound AND looks. After a hard day at work, this room is an oasis of peace and beauty for me.

It may look too "classical" and "fuddy daddy" for some people, but I really like wood, leather and vintage furniture - as I am sure you, of all people, would understand and appreciate .
