No. I will probably trade for them or the big latours. I just need to determine which size I want.

Yes alnico. . My point is that I wanted to determine which size worked best in my room. I can't compare the two petites. These sound really great though. But if I can convince my wife I want the bigger speakers. If not then I will go petite field coil. There was a particular logic behind this.

I think as a general matter, Shindo only moves forward (ie improves) with his designs - not back. Otherwise he retires the name.

He varies his products but modern products are not better, they only sound different.

I expect these revisions to have a large impact on the sound, especially if they have a different horn. IMHO the 32A bent horn used in the older version (and used in the much revered Western Electric 753C monitor) was one of the redeeming features of the speaker, and believe contributes a lot to it's coherency and overall character. I would love to hear the thoughts of anyone who has had the opportunity to hear both versions.

I'm also curious to know if the big Latour has undergone any format changes, or if it's design is more fixed being Shindo's statement/reference speaker.

I believe I have the only new style pair (in the US) so probably only Matt has heard both versions as I haven't.

Did what to me? Wasn't aware you emailed or asked me a question that required answering? Sorry if I missed that.
