i'm not sure how i missed this thread last year. My oldest son spent his spring semester of 2012 in Rome studying architecture and landscape architecture. His mother visited him late April 2012. I had to stay home and mind the store.
We celebrate our 25th anniversary next June.... should this be a destination?... |

I too love Rome, but I will NEVER again visit in the summer months....way too crowded and I have never been hotter than in late July....and this is from someone who lived in Texas most of his life....
St. Peters was a Bucket List location, and when I approached the main plaza in front of the Basilica, I lost in and cried as the site was so stupendous....the interior is one of those places where picture do NOT do it justice.... I do not remember food much as I was there in my college days and McDonald's was the norm. I do want to go back, but in the Spring/Fall/Winter and eat better and stay in something nicer than a youth hostel..... Cheers
