Here is an update:
I received the 205 last Friday. I spent some time this weekend listening to the 2-ch analog output of the 205 and compared it to that of the Oppo 105D. Using recordings that I know well, I felt that the 205 presented a more coherent and wider presentation of the music.

I have not listened to multi-channel analog yet but I suspect that the result will be similar.

I am aware that the 205 allows you to choose a variety of filters for the audio DAC. I have not experimented with the filters yet.

The Oppo 205 is a Roon Endpoint. Roon will let you send upsampled/converted signals to the 205 (up to 192 mhz, I believe). I have not experimented with that either.

Bottom line: The Oppo 205 is a keeper.

I have listened most of the weekend myself. I’m not ready to report on the comparison yet with my DAC in the c2500 as the 205 still continues to evolve. I do like what I here so far and I am enjoying some DSD files.......stay tuned more to come.
