I don't use cable isolators, but if I were to decide to do so I would select these.

They are ceramic based but have a unique cylindrical chamber design to dissipate vibrational energy. Only the innermost core sits on the floor. Underside, they look like the ceramics that sit on top of an electricity pole. As I said they are heavy & stable. If you're one to adjust your cables from time to time or are getting behind there to do a fix or adjustment, these WON'T BUDGE. For those with carpet, these are perfect! Mine are on solid timber floors. As for the "other" plastic brand, not only did they attract dust, they used to fall over like a deck of cards. Most frustrating. I use the large glazed ceramics in combination with their ESD (Electro Static Dissipative Polyurethane) model which are super cheap & the freight costs are next to nothing. They are of course light but being solid throughout they are also more stable than the "hollows" out there. Both CableIsolators models work well & look great! I have tried "others" & both models perform just as well if not better IMO. Don't be fooled by the material mumbo jumbo of the competition. Their carbon polymer product looks finished like the same sort of plastic found in a $2 shop. These will do the trick at a fraction of the price & they are finished better. Personally, I think everyone has a need for cable isolation. With the cheap price of CableIsolators, you can't go wrong. for both models. Last edited by MyPal; 09-13-2012 at 01:14 PM. |

Eh thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated. I will go order those ESD MK II. I have 8 ft long speaker cables and my speakers are Harbeth Compact 7ES-3, which are 2 feet above the floor. In my case I will have about 5 feet where I will need them so I believe only the ESD MK II will be necessary.
