The BEST vibration control that I have found is inside the components...not under it.

I take off the top cover of my component and put four layers of teflon tape all the way around the top chassis where the screw holes are for the top cover. I also put a little teflon tape around the top part of the screws too when putting the screws back in for the top cover.

I then take off the bottom plate of my component and put four layers of teflon tape all the way around the bottom chassis where the screw holes are for the bottom plate. Then I put a little teflon tape around the top part of the screws when putting the screws back in the bottom plate.

Some of you here might want try this amazing tweak and see how you like it.

A very old thread and thought I'd update with my changes, some of which ocurred in early 2011 and today ordered 8 HRS Nimbus Couplers (NA150's) for my MC2301's.

I had the Stillpoints -- sold them & went with the Nordost sort Kones under everything aftef an outstanding audition at RMAF a few years back w/Jim (Stillone). I used AC models under the amps, and TC's under the preamp and MCD500.

I didn't like the Nordost under the amps -- hard to get those suckers just right -especially when the amp weighs 115+/- pounds and you're on your hand n' knees trying to get the rear cones evenly spaced, etc (two rear and one front and center; triangle formation).

So, I ordered the HRS Nimbus NA150's and that should be the ticket for the amps. The preamp & MCD1100 contine to have the Nordost "TC" sort cones under them (in a triangle -- 2 rear, one at AC input and one on the XLR side, and one centered under the transport in the front).

When I bring Paganini home -- I may just get rid of the Nordost sort kones and use Nimbus NA150's again there. At 90+ pounds for a 4 stack, the Nordost sort cones won't cut it and I don't want marks under the bottom Pag unit.

I use the Finite Elements Ceraballs in combination with a 4cm thick massive oak shelf. I've placed the Ceraballs underneath the shelf and there on the cd player. At first I've placed the Ceraballs directly under player but that gave a negative result in high frequencies. With the wood shelf between it, it gave me more control in the lower regions and more definition in the heights.
Under the amp I use the Stillpoints.
