I have the 50 mm version and am here in Germany where this one may be too much to resist. |

I was fooling around one day, looking at Craigslist, and saw a Nikon 24-70, F2.8 at a very reasonable price. I went to look at it, even though I had a DX camera (D7000).
Even on the D7000 it was impressive, so much so that I bought the 24-70, sold the D7000 and got a FX camera, D600. Since then I got a 24-120, F4 which was more convenient when I was traipsing around China and Asia. I am seriously looking at a 24mm, F1.8. |

The 50 Noctilux has that classic signature. This is a nice modern complement, well suited for portraiture. I also use it in my medium format, and has no problem resolving 100mp. |

For my Nikon D500 my most used lens is the 16-80mm f4. For family portraits the 50mm f1.4

To me 85mm is the sweet spot, I own a few:
Contax Planar 85/1.4 which I use once in a while on a Fuji ML camera, not the easiest thing to focus and quite a "particular" rendering of the out of focus area but quite unique; Nikon 85/1.8A a lens which I got off of my dad which we converted to Ai mount when I was a teen, use it very rarely but surprisingly good even on modern camera/sensor; Nikon 85/1.4D which I got a few weeks ago right after my beloved Nikon D800 got splashed off a huuuuuge saltwater wave so I coudln't really test it yet, but I know it won't disappoint. End of the day pick? 85mm!!! |

Apo-Summicron 50/f2 mm. There just seems to be less between the subject and the image sensor.

Love this lense. It’s my daily shooter. I have the noctilux 50, but that thing is too heavy for the road, etc. |
