The system is shaping up to the following:

XRT1K
MC1.2KW
MX150 (On order, so hopefully it will not be delayed)
MT10 (Getting such a good deal on it, was hard to pass up)
PS Audio Phono for the MT10
MCD500
Sonos which I have now, going to be ran through the MCD500
MS750 (which I have another thread on, still 50/50 on it)
and then the cables.

That will be a very nice system.

One question, why the MX 150 rather than the C500 or C1000 or 2300? Is this a HT setup that you are showing what you will be doing with the 2-channel front end?

It is going to be a HT system, just building it up over time. Also in my current space, I can not fit the center channel, so hopefully by the time I am ready for the next batch of mcintosh gear, I will have more space. I do spend more time with 2 channel over movies but figured I might as well go with the MX150 since I can connect my tv, blu-ray and directv up.

Get the C1000C+P. If you are going to "build" out the HT, don't bother with the MX150 (and waiting until mid/end of summer for it, either) just yet. Worry about it when you add a center and surrounds.

Also, don't go ghetto on a center, if you get the XRT1K's you need the XCS1K. Any argument you have for not getting that is invalid.

With the rate processors change and by the time you get around to going 5.1 (considering how AWESOME that 2-channel system will be), an MX151 or something like that will be out, and you can probably be able to pick up a used MX150 for "barato."

Don't forget 2x PPP's. And with the MCD500, just go ahead and get the MS750 or its equivalent (by the time you purchase) since you can use it through the DAC of the MCD - the convenience is wonderful and it will still sound wonderful.

Did you check out the MSRP of Nordost Odin? A system wired with Odin can often cost more than the system itself.

well, I would say, I like the nordost over wireworld. where wireworld is very clean, I find with nordost you get all the clean that wireworld gives you, but you get a deeper level of sound. Also I have to tell you, I have switched over to Nordost HDMI cables and the colors are so clean, and natural that it is almost 3d like. But I would really get to know your new equipment for at least a month before you start changing any cables. You need to know for sure what is doing what.

I have used Nordost cabling with my system even before I moved to McIntosh. Having said that, I don't have much experience with different cables and there is no doubt they make a different and I would daresay they are just as different as audio gear. Given that cables are the link between your components and your speakers, the only thing I would suggest is make sure its all the same make and brand between all the components... I would think mixing would be like having different radial tires on each of the wheels of your car...

okay, maybe that's not the best analogy.. :sorry-3:

I am going to look into which Nordost cables he was going to use for my system. I know if I went WireWorld, I would get the Silver Eclipse. I think I will give both of them a try and see which I like better.

ipacmm.......I am well pleased with the performance of my new WW 6.0 Silver Eclipse balanced interconnects. Very detailed, well balanced presentation top to bottom. Well worth your time to audition.
