I’m trying to understand why it only has 435 hp with 0-60 if 3.5 , this is not such stellar performance for a performance car, more a luxury cruiser. This car should have had atleast 550 hp.

You could always get Evos and Mustangs with more power. The Carrera was more about handling and day to day usability.

Even the GT3 just hits 500hp in its latest generation and no one says - Ooh needs another 50hp more.

This is the base car, it’s predecessor had 400hp.

and with that being said how many owners 'ever' use the full potential of their respective 'performance cars', the majority of them cruise to coffee and cars and scratch their .............

The actual Ferrari 488 racecars (488 GTE) get a sequential gearbox mounted to the floor due to IMSA’s regulations (not street legal cars lol)...it’s not the traditional gated gear shifters but still require more driver input and control than the road version’s with paddle shifters. Not sure on the 488 GT3 tranny as that class is supposed to be more “affordable” for gentleman racers, but AFAIK the only paddles used in professional racing are limited to F1.

This is the S version not the base car. The base car only has 385 hp. My point is that by the time you put on a few options that should be standard such has the package which includes 14 way seats, Bose sound system (which is mediocre) etc, metallic paint and a few other options and in a convertible the price of this car will be 140-170 k plus tax . I have had several new 911's and I no longer am a customer for a new porsche as this a pretty slow car now a days. you really have to get the revs up to 4000 rpm to get any kind of decent torque out of it. There are much better options for this price including a lightly used Ferrari, a brand new ZR1, a new Mercedes GT , a Aston Martin
