Default ML Vista?

There is a pair of ML Vista's for sale on Rochester MN CL, about an hour from here. They are listed at $1800. I'd love any comments on this speaker - especailly around mid-bass performance. Would this be a good entree into the ESL world? The only review I've been able to find is by Dick Ohlser, where he indicates these are lean sounding. Any thoughts?

I've got the big McIntosh tube amp, the MC2301, so I think I've got enough juice to drive it. I've got another amp I can use for bi-amping if need be.

My current speakers sounds great, they have 3 7" woofers on each side, so I'm a little concerned I'll lose some bass output. The room is about 45' by 15', speakers set u along the long wall in the close field.

Regards,

Tom

With the MC2301 you have more than enough juice to drive any ML speaker. I cannot comment on the Vista specifically; however, I really liked 2301's paired with the CLX. If I were you I'd look a little higher up in the ML food chain given the electronics you've got.

Hi Tom. There aren't too many ESL guys here I'd suggest to go here if you don't get the answers your looking for. I've never owned them but these guys will give you a honest answer to your questions.

Thanks Dennis, Gordon;
I've searched the ML owners forum and not found a lot of info on the Vista. I'll log in and ask directly. I'm attracted by what appears to be a good price on a clean pair, available locally. This would enable me to try out the breed with my electronics to see if I like the overall sound. I'd then move up the line if need be and not lose a bunch of money. These have the new panels, which are supposed to be outstanding.
Regards,
Tom

As you note at that price and the speakers located near to you, it sounds like a good chance to try them out without much risk.

Absolutely. As an ex-Ohm F owner, I'm reallty interested in speakers like yours, and the ML panel speakers.
