Default Mullard KT88 reissue

Anyone tried the new Mullard KT88 reissue tubes front New Sensor? They are priced great and look very similar to the Gold Lion with the triple getter and all.

The new Mullard KT88 reissue looks very similar to the Gold Lion KT88. I don't know whether the metallurgy is the same in both tubes but the internal construction looks nearly identical.

There was only one comment I saw on the net about it having a slightly warmer midrange and more pronounced bass than the Gold Lion. Might have to buy a set to try them out. AT $134 per quad they are priced right.

Primary difference with the GL KT-88 and other KT-88s is that the GL has not only the 'usual' top getter, but side getters, as well. That could be the only difference between the two.

Glenn.......The original Mullard KT88 had the three getter arrange. I believe the new Mullard reissue KT88 tubes also have the three getter arrangement.

I have been using the Mullard KT88 in my MC275V for about a year they sound great. I did try the GL KT88 but one of them shorted out after 5 months luckily the only damage was a blown fuse.
