The chryoes in my act 2 sr 2 sounded faster and not as warm, more forward less veiled. For my room, gear, ears and music it has been consistantly more involving. Thru the years I have enjoyed cj that is a little thinned out and faster thru tweeking. This may be why I like chryoes and my non copper jps labs ic's. i find copper ic's to add warmth with rare exception.

Don't think my Thiels would welcome less warmth....they might feel otherwise if I were using tube mono blocs....but that's a whole other stratosphere of money I don't have. (Minimum power requirement is 400 watts...600 is optimal)

I totally agree having had a thiel for 13 years. Thiel gave the best service after purchase of any company I have dealt with, great company.

I have a spare set of tubes for the CT5. Might be an interesting time to try them again if I can find the. I need to do a chuck out and tidy up. They are the same tube but I think they had gold pins.

I have now had the ET-5 in my system for 4 months, it replaced my CT-5, initially I had reservations on the change but then those Teflon caps take forever to break in. Although I only have 100 hours on it I'm hearing nice differences. It is faster than the CT-5, the woodyness of acoustic bass has a much more realistic sound. I replaced the stock tube with a NOS Telefunken and it wrought a much more holographic image.
Right now I'm running it with a Pass X250.5 into Maggie 3.7 but soon will change to the Premier 350 which I think might be an even better match.

Not sure if out of topic but how would the premier 16LS2 compare with the ET5? I have offer for a 10 year old 16LS2 at usd3600 and at ET5 at USD5600. Thanks !

Nope! Only heard ET5. CT5 and PV14lS2 at home. If you search the forum you will find comparisons that should enable you to make some assumptions about the likely differences. The ET5 has the most modern sound and a fair bit of gain, the 16 has a more of an old school tube sound ( relatively) but is liked by a few here for that characteristic. The ET5 is very resolving.

Thanks Briz !

Looks like I will end up with the CA200 instead for a taste of CJ after my favorable experience with the Premier 14 7-8 years ago.

Cheers

You will love the CA200. Its a great amp and one of the best integrated amps I have heard including ones costing twice its price.

Not a bad place to end up
