Greeting from a Mc Newbie
West Michigan greetings from a long time Mc admirer. My history is like so many others - over 30 years ago I walked into a room magically lit by blue meters from a wall lined with dozens of amps and preamps. The site and sound offered an epiphany of wonder into the world of audio. I'm still wondering...
Fast forward 3 decades after hundreds of products all without the McIntosh badge. So we tried an MA6500 and enjoyed the sound from our Wilson Cubs and Voce Divina subs to want a bit more. Well, I found it from an estate. But I don't want to touch these - they're absolutely perfect. We're taking offers but the dilema is, Should we hang on to these because of their perfect condition? And they had been modified by McIntosh Tech's. The MC 2300 has no power on "POP" and it has been direct wired to bypass the gain pots. Same with the C28 - they've been upgraded to premium parts. These products have literally been untouched and when in use, were in a controlled air environment. With the first offers I've received some stories but would appreciate very much any additional insight / reviews / publications / posts which will tell us more about these and what others have experienced. Please let me know if you're unable to open this Picasa photo link. Picasa Web Albums - bluemeteraudio - McIntosh |

Keep them, they are classic pieces. The MC2300 can drive most any set of speakers without effort and sound really good doing so.
