Default Audeze LCD-3 Headphones

Anyone demo these?

Steve Guttenburg likes them better than the 5k Stax.
I did read something about consistancy problems between the LCD-3 Headphones and measurements.

KingRT,

Everything I have read about the Audeze LCD-3 was absolutely stellar. I haven't listened to the LCD-2 or the LCD-3.

I've only read good things about them too. The Hifiman HE-6's are supposed to offer similar performance, but require more juice.

I have the LCD 2.1's - I love them. Heard the 3's: step up again but of course decreasing marginal returns. All reward a lovely amp.

I'd suggest buying a second hand pair of the 2's - either the 2.1's or the 2.2's - I prefer the 2.1's: both benefit from an after market cable eg Moon Audio and a good head amp: need not be expensive - I have an O2 and its great.

The all have the same house sound and endless bass properly driven.

Can recommend easily.

.

The "decreasing marginal returns" does slow upgrade-itus.

I purchased the Audeze LCD 3 from Ivan today.

Brand new in the box for $725.00. Last day of his sale.
Who would have thought that the Audeze LCD 3, held that kind of mark up, at full MSRP??

He is very strict on specials sales. Just slid under the wire. A wake up loss leader, to see who is paying attention....
