Milimetr.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado. Glad you found us, and decided to join the fun.

After double checking your screen name with the Audiogon classified ad, I would have to say yes, it is your SF Amati Anniversario photo that I copied for the purpose of comparing the graphite color to the red violin color in that post. If you would prefer that I not use this photo, I will remove it.

Thank you guys for warm welcome.
---> Stillone
my system is still in process of reconfiguration. I have sold all gear I had in my system and I am building it from beginning. My past gear was Audio Research and now I am building my system around Jadis gear.

There is not a problem with using this photo at all.
I put my comment because I am really impressed how fast you was. I have posted my ad just few days ago and just found the pictures here. I am glad that you like the look of graphite Amati. In fact on the picture with only one speaker visible there is direct light to enhance the look of graphite finish. In normal light conditions this finish is much more subtle.

Welcome Milimetr. I'm pretty new here too. I think you will find that it is like one big family. The guys here are really helpful sharing their experiences and expertise. One thing you will find is we love to see pictures of your gear and share in that special moment when you bring it home and set it up. The more juicy the details, the better.

Dan,

Congrats for the SF GM !!

They are probably one of the most beautiful speakers on this planet.
I'm sure you'll enjoy them and I can't wait for your review !
I heard them with Krell amps and did not like the sound.
But I'm sure, from the comments I read everywhere, that with your tube Mc system, they will be a delight !
I'm glad you did not buy an other pair of PMC EB1i.
They are wonderful speakers but it is better to have the choice of different sounding speakers : that makes you like having different kind of ears !
The pleasure is amplified by variety.

Cheers,

Jérôme

Welcome Milimtr,

A big welcome to AA!

I am an ex-owner of a pair of Guarneri Mementos. They are fabulous speakers indeed.

Did you ever experimented with string masking covers on Homage series and Cremona series?
Any differences in sound?
I did not try it in my Guarneri yet, but in speakers with longer strings like Amati and Stradivari I have observed that strings vibrate during louder playback. I suppose that vibrating strings can suck a little of the sound energy and probably it will affect the sound.
Any thoughts?
