Oh Tony!!
Glad you came out more or less 'undamaged'. As the other docs, I recommend you to take your anticoagulantia strictly. Have a good entire body check (cancer is indeed one of the reasons of DVT, but the plane journey might have caused this). And indeed, a change of lifestyle might be indicated. Lots of luck. And we'll be very happy to see you posting in the jazz and classical threads.

Pulmonary Embolism
Thanks guys. Following doctors orders, staying ahead of the pain, strictly observing the blood thinner guidelines, walking whenever I’m able to keep things moving, listening to lots of music, and keeping up with my friends on AA[emoji846]

I see I'm late to this party, but I fully agree with Msegal, docmd2010 and audioguy3017.
You should have sonograms of your legs to check for DVTs (deep vein thromboses) which can seed other areas of the body with new clots. Take it easy until there are signs the clots are dissolving. Booze isn't an absolute contraindication when on blood thinners. If you have the same reasonable amount every day, they can titrate your blood thinners to keep your INR where they want it. The same goes for foods like leafy green vegetables that they often say not to eat when on certain blood thinners. Have the same amount every day and they can titrate your dosing. Check with your personal physician. He is the only one of us who has examined you. |
