Cincy,

I can see you are using Transparent speaker cables with your Raidho D-3 speakers. In France, the local dealers selling Raidho speakers strongly advise to use them with Nordost speaker cables to get the best of them (and pointing out they are internally wired with Valhalla and Odin cables).

What do you think about this advice? Did you have the opportunity to try Nordost speaker cables with them and make some comparisons? How would you describe the synergies between your Raidho speakers and your Transparent speaker cables?

If you don't mind, can you specify what kind of terminations do you have on your Transparent Opus MM2 speaker cables? If they are spades, did you find it easy to fix them on your Raidho D-3 speakers?

Bertrand (looking for Raidho D-2 speakers and already using Transparent Reference speaker cables with spade terminations)

While I understand that some Raidho speaker models have used Nordost cables internally, I doubt that they still do in their latest models. They now have their own brand of cables named Ansuz Acoustics.

Audio bill... it makes sense since this manufacturer is known to use its own products or solutions (ribbon tweeters, mid and bass drivers, speaker terminals, adjustable feet...).

I tried a pair of Nordost Valhalla speaker cables some years ago with my B&W 800 speakers that I replaced with the Raidho's. I had the opportunity to compare to Transparent's Ref XL which I was using at the time. I did not like the sound of the Nordost. It was edgier and didn't have the "relaxed" presentation I had come to love with the Transparent products. To some people's ears they may sound better but not to mine.

The Opus MM's have spade terminations. The spades are very thick but I do not anticipate any problems. I am using a loaner pair of TA Music Wave cables until my Opus set return from Transparent. I am having them retuned for the D-3's. If I have any trouble when they return in a few weeks, I'll send you a PM. All Transparent cables are available with banana plug terminations which would be the solution if I do have a problem.

Thanks a lot Cincy!

I wondered about the cable's terminations because of the narrow space under the Raidho terminals as we can see on the photo below picked up on the web.

Could be an issue coming in from below. If that is the case, I will engage the post from the top or get the banana plugs.

Cincy,

How did you actually connect your Transparent Opus MM2 speaker cables to the Raidho's binding posts?

Bertrand,

Yes I did make the connection. It was a little tight making the curve upward to engage the posts but they fit fine. When I added a one inch thick granite slab under each speaker last week, the fit was very easy without interference. By the way, the sound is marvelous already and the Opus cables have many more hours to play before they break in.
