Default My Headphone Station while browsing the inter web.
This is my web browsing station. I use it on a daily basis, but I do change the headphones up a bit. 2009 MacBook Pro with 1TB HD and SSD for OS X Lion. Apogee Duet 2 headphones amp and DAC. The combo is amazing.

DJ, that is one sweet looking set-up. Would the Apogee be suitable for just listening to music/movies through an iPad or would that be overkill? I don't plan on using any of the recording features on the unit.

I wouldn't say it's an overkill because it is an AWESOME DAC & headphones amp. I don't use any of the AD features, yet but it's there if you ever want to.

DJ, thank you for the advice. I may have to pick one of these up a little down the line. I just picked up an iPad today.

Also, I'm going to start a thread in just a few about in-ear headphones. It sounds like you have quite the experience in this area. If you don't mind, please feel free to hop on over and chime in.

The iPad is not compatible with the Apogee Duet 2. The Duet 2 requires Mastero driver installed in OS X to use.

For iPad use without a Mac, you need something that supports USB 1.0.

DJ, I did notice the difference in the OS and was wondering about that. Dang, I liked the idea of the Duet 2. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for the nice comments. The Duet 2 is one of the BEST purchase I've made to-date. I suggest everyone to try it out. It's a fantastic DAC & headphones amp. Works for transfer vinyl to digital too. It's Mac only. Sorry PC.
