I really want to dig down and find out how Focus and Swim compares to Smart Playlists and Genius. Then what level of metadata will I get with out having to manually enter it.

Lastly can the Audio Core + a QNAP server accomplish the same thing as a MC200?
The benefit of using the MC200 with a 808v3 or v5 is the DAC's in the ID40 or ID41 cards. The MC 200 DAC's are okay but far from the SOTA. With a MC 200 and 808 or 818 you separate noisy computers from the equation. You are streaming only data to the 808 or 818. That is also why Naim products do the job so well.

Thank you Gentlemen for taking the time to provide feedback. There is no frugal solution when it comes to the best, and I need to adjust my expectation

Naim gear is excellent, I have had nothing but positive experiences with their products.

One of my twinstores is about to die a death so i am now contemplating moving over to the QNAP system.

Has anyone done it and does anyone know what to do? Do I just buy a four bay system, install the software and plug the disks in? I am worried about losing my music if there is some conflict.

Any thoughts?

Why? QNAP is undocumented and unproven
Also, how do you know your TS is dying?
Back-up to an external HD like right now...
Need more storage in your TS? Get bigger drives, they're cheap....

If you're hearing irregular HDD noise then a backup is probably step #1.
If you're running twinstores in RAID-0 then restore that backup to a QNAP. It will show up us non-sooloos storage but work just like adding more twinstores.
