Default Meridian MC-200 Ordered

I decided to pull the trigger and order a Meridian Media Core-200 piece today. I will be running this using Meridian's iPad app. Initially I plan on connecting the unit directly to my 808v3. I should have the unit within a week.

I will take the 808 to the dealer with me so he can use the set-up program to configure the digital outputs and change the front panel readouts. For the time being the MS-300 and SonoS devices will continue to be used too.

Great Jim! I think you will be impressed.

The unit works very well with the ipad app. Also, a side benefit for me is the access to genre specific radio stations accessed through the sooloos app.

Has anyone who owns MSMS or SooLoos used a wireless connection from their unit to their router? I have been told that if you want a good Rhapsody connection you need to be hard wired, They noted that getting meta data might work okay via wireless but not the streaming aspect.

Hi Jim; It's great to hear you are moving to MSMS! I look forward to hearing your results. There is a cisco device (I have several at home) that let's you use your current electrical wiring in our house to connect to your router. It works very good for getting a "direct" connection to your router anywhere in your house. I've used this method for the past couple years with my Transporter.

Congrats on the MC-200, Jim! I think you will really enjoy it. If you aren't already aware, you can import the FLAC files from your MS300 to your MC-200. I did this with my MS750 and C15/Twinstore.

I am listening to Rhapsody as I type this using an Airport Express to connect my MS200 in my office to my network, and it is (as always) working well. Of course, the Airport Express is only about ten feet away from the Time Machine wireless router and in the same room. YMMV. Good luck!

Congrats Jim and welcome to Sooloos. Yes the name has changed but Sooloos is much more catchy

Btw, I hardwire everything but that's cos my wireless set up is crap and very slow.

Thanks Chuck and John

I think I will try the airport express (or a Airport Extreme) as an extension to my current network. I get a good signal as is in my 2-channel room.

Jim, I think Airport Express is limited to 16bit 44khz.
