Default Possible Output Maybe a dumb question

Is there a way to take the output from the cd player like an oppo95 or a preamp like the mx150 and convert to to a headphone jack?

And would this be similar to having a direct connection like a MCD500?

I was just wondering if there is a way to add a jack for headphones to the Oppo or mx150 and if it would be decent?

Can this be done in any way from a toslink and or Coaxial and Optical Digital Audio output connection

thanks

Dave.......You are going to need a headphone amplifier. You can use a fixed line level output from CD player or a preamp to feed the headphone amplifier. Some headphone amplifiers that incorporate a DAC will allow a digital input. I use the Musical Fidelity X-Can V8P headphone amplifier. It is a tube amp and also provides a USB input. The X-Can V8P sounds wonderful with my Sennheiser HD600.

I kinda figured that Dan, and have been looking for an amp, I have ranged from 600-1900 amps.

I run a pair 0f 650 Sennheiser's, I think I need to keep in mind that I do not need an amp that exceeds the phones right?

I will take a look at that one to Dan.

I did see many tpes of convertors for TVs etc to output to analog, but bost are crap (non Audiophile grade)

If I do go with a headphone amp, is there a certain type of additional connection(s) I should look for rather than just standard rca to tape loop connections?

I was thinking maybe the best sound is to bypass the mx150 and go straight from a cd player to the headphones? Or is the benefit nill?

Dave.......RCA inputs to a headphone amp are the most common and the easiest to use with the most sources.

Price range should be about the price of your Sennheiser HD650. Look for a used headphone amplifier if you can. Headphone guys turn over headphone amps more often than us sound system guys. There are some good values available.

I have my Musical Fidelity X-Can V8P connected direct to a CD player in my office. I like to listen to my HD600 headphones in here when I am online. The CD player only drives the headphone amp.

Some headphone amplifiers that I can recommend in the under $500.00 range are:

Musical Fidelity
Head Amp
Creek
Music Hall
Schiit Audio
