Your favorite Mac mono blocks?
Mac Board..... The last time around, I asked about your favorite Mac stereo amps. Considering that we're still shy one channel of amplification, I'm asking about "monaural" amplifiers this time around.
What are your favorite Mac mono blocks and why? Thank you for your time and have a very Merry Christmas!

If I were to go that route, it would be the MC611s.

I vote for a pair of biamplified MC275VI. The only all tube mono blocks offered by McIntosh today.

I probably should've added that the "missing channel" will power a B&W HTM3S that sits between a pair of B&W 802Ns (powered by the MC452). The HTM3S is a 250W speaker, so a tube amp might not be a great fit here. Considering that both of our Mac amps are solid state, perhaps we should stick with transistors over tubes.

I owned the MC601s and enjoyed them but what I really wanted were the MC2301s which to me are the best sounding McIntosh amps ever!

Hmmmm...
We've always stuck with the solid state amps, but I have to admit that the MC2301 is one nice looking monoblock! Perhaps we should call our regional Mac dealer and see if they have one hooked up. That way, we can actually hear what the fuss about Mac tube amps is all about.

I have the 601s now and they're excellent. I also have a pair of the 2102s running in Mono Bridged and they're amazing. Fully balanced 200+ of pure tube power. Lush with huge soundstage and deep base Sidney Cordeman came out of retirement and designed them.

Nice suggestion about those MC2102s! You know, every time I see one of your posts, I get a bit confused. Why? Because your handle, JBT, is our monogram.

Bill - you have an MC300. Get another and bridge it as a monoblock.
