I wonder why they eliminated the great 3D look used on the front panels of the X and Xa Series. Maybe they wanted to keep the industrial design of the two modules consistent and with no meter required on the second unit the extra metal would be superfluous.

I wish I had a dedicated listening room as I'd be all over these amps.
Your system looks great.
Now you need some speakers that are at the same level as the amps

That would be my guess as well. It does go better with the preamp now and I found the 3D faceplate a bit futuristic looking after living with it for a while.

Sure.

I could definitely use your help when it's time to make up for all the wife neglecting I've inflicted over the past year assembling the audio room .

Yes, in the manufacturing business for 30years. I find music to be relaxing after hard labor at my shop in downtown LA.

Love the amp combo you have there, we are using same brand of speaker cable though.

Alright then... We'll make a date.

Our wives don't understand a thing about audio... like I don't understand purses.

When she is stressed out, she go out shopping and bring home new purse or clothes.

Having had the XA.5 and the new XS in my room, I have to say, IMO, the new XS design is much better looking in person than the XA. The new meter looks better as well with the added bonus of being able to turn off the light if you want.
