I know from first hand experience that you have a fabulous sounding combo. I've since upgraded to the A75. Maybe your next step might be a DP750 to replace the 550 |

What’s the A75 sound like? Is that big a difference to the A70?

The A75 is basically a stereo version of the A250 mono's. It sounds wonderful and makes beautiful music... But so did the A70. It's not a night and day difference but a refinement. A fine tuning giving you more of everything the A70 had. Although there are very audible and pleasing differences I could have easily lived with the A70 for a very long time. |

Thanks. I found that the preamp series make far more difference and improvements than moving up the power amp

well well, my Accuphase journey just started.
I replaced my A-S3000 (the most expensive and biggest Yamaha amplifier) by a E-270 (the less expensive and smallest Accuphase)! But this is just a first step. Next year (and this is soon...) I plan to upgrade, when the E-480 becomes available, I will compare this new machine with the E-650 and with the combinations around a C-2150... |

the 480 arrived in France, as did the 2150.
Nothing yet in Germany. So far from the other forums. |

Pretty new to Accuphase and not much of journey so far.
Since I began my audiophile journey I have tried various components in a relatively short time. Have to say it was a very interesting exercise to sit down and work through the progression. Apologies as it takes a while to get to the Accuphase components. Yamaha receiver -> Elektra 7 Channel Power Amp -> Dynaudio Focus 380 Yamaha receiver -> Parasound P5 -> Elektra 7 Channel Power Amp -> Dynaudio Focus 380 NAD M51 -> Parasound P5 -> Elektra 7 Channel Power Amp -> Dynaudio Focus 380 NAD M51 -> Parasound P5 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Focus 380 Cambridge Audio Azure 851D -> Parasound P5 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Focus 380 Cambridge Audio Azure 851D -> Parasound P5 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 PS Audio DirectStream Junior -> Parasound P5 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 PS Audio DirectStream Junior -> Parasound JC2 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 PS Audio DirectStream Junior -> Parasound JC2 -> Parasound A21 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 PS Audio DirectStream Junior -> Accuphase E-470 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 Accuphase DAC-50 -> Accuphase E-470 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 Accuphase DC-901 -> Accuphase E-470 -> Dynaudio Contour S5.4 My move into the Accuphase realm came quite by accident. I was looking for an integrated Amp and went to audition some gear including Luxman 509X, Pass Labs INT-250, Vitus R-100 and an AudiaFlight integrated. It just so happened that at one of auditions the E-470 was present so I decided to give it a go. Loved the sound instantly and that is where it all began for me. Pretty much addicted to the Accuphase sound now and constantly researching Accuphase. Would love to try a Class A Power Amp, A-70/75 for example as I have never had Class A gear in my system. |

Looks like you prefer the sound of the DAC 50 over the PS Audio?

To my ears at least there was no comparison with any of my prior sources. |
