ARC PH9 break in period
Hi Guys,
Just got a brand new PH9. Guess I’m the only one in this forum who has it since there is no thread about it. Anybody knows how long does it take to break in? And also noticed the output is lower than usual. Well i am using a low output cartridge which is the clearaudio talismann v2 gold output of 0.5mv. So I had to choose the highest cartridge load of 47k. The rest was to low output. But it sounds amazing out of the box. Anybody could please help me on this? |

I found a review from Hi-Fi news that indicated the phono worked well with a .6 mv output cartridge. 47k loading may not be correct for your mc. What preamp are you using.

I think arc says 600 hours for break in. The ls28 should have plenty of gain for a good overall volume.

the PH9 with 55db of gain into your LS28 should provide plenty. Be sure your cartridge is wired up correctly.
As for 'break in' time, I for one feel 600 hrs is overblown. Listen and enjoy ! |
