Bass is appropriate (not too much, not too little) and tight and the Strads like the extra juice.
Oh Yeah, Go ahead

Seriously Mike, they always get great reviews. I know you want them.

Maybe a tube preamp will sweeten the pie.

If I can find a pair for $7kish - I will. I'm finding I like having the option of two different style of amps. I'm now officially in Joeville! There's lots of bling around these parts! Mikey likes it!

Ha!

It can be a bit of a hassle, but it's nice to switch things up a little and keep it fresh. Eventually some of you guys come around

Just keep an eye on bzr aka Kev's avatar. He's all over the place.

It depends on your needs. If you're leaning toward digital and you're a little patient (the 24/192 on the USB is still a couple of months away), you can't go wrong FOR THE MONEY. The USB input with a platinum USB cable is stellar. If you need bass management, then it's a no brainier. If you're primarily into vinyl, then keep looking.

I have to say, I have had the SSP 800 in my theatre since the first year it came out and Classe customer service is fantastic. Easy updates for firmware (the CP800 is even easier I believe), consistently trying to fix any issues. When HDMI went to 1.3 they offered a free upgrade, and when 1.4 showed up (for 3D) they offered that as an option for past clients if they wanted to pay $1500 more for it. I don't like 3D, so I didn't bother.

There is a set of CAM600s on Agon I believe right now Mike!
