Default P5 Remote Control Interference problem

So this is interesting. I acquired a new LG TV and evidently some of the frequencies on the remote are the same as my P5. The annoying thing is, it keeps shutting off my P5 when I hit certain buttons. Does anyone know of a workaround or should I contact ps audio? I guess I could tape over the remote sensor but, that would be tacky.

Default P5 Remote Control Interference problem

I don’t know if it’s the case with yours, but many newer TVs, LG included, can be connected to your home network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi and controlled with an app via a tablet or phone, or an IP enabled remote like the latest Logitech Harmony. Also some LGs have built in Alexa, so you could just talk to it. Lastly many can be controlled with RF, which could be handled with a universal remote like the Harmony. Any of these options would mean you wouldn’t have to use the IR remote.

Chris - see if the TV or your P5 have an alternate set of remote codes. Most do and just switching one or the other to the alternate code set might cure your problem.

I have the same problem with the Oppo 105 and my Ref6. ANY button you hit on the Oppo remote changes the balance on the Ref6! ugh

LG TV / PS Audio use the same IR codes.......I purchased my P5 in 2012, and suffered the same issue with my 42” smart TV. Ended up putting a index card n front of the P5 IR receiver, since I rarely needed to access the P5 via remote. PS Audio is aware of the issue.
