A very fun time at Sal's house today

Well what can I say, Pete said it all!!! It was great seeing you again Pete as well as Bob and the man Moderators love to hate, Mike (KingRT).

As far as the man of the hour what a great host Sal is. As I like to say Sal is one of the good guys. His dedicated room was simple and most comfortable. The 1 ¾” wide monolithic twins sounded outstanding even sitting on the couch against the wall. . . . . Pete was hogging the seat in the sweat spot all day and would not relinquish it.

Even though they are quite large and hard to visually miss, once they are turned on they completely disappear. And they did get turned on, Sal was gentle at first playing them at around 40W, but decided to give them a swift kick in the A_S at Pete’s request and the throttle was ratcheted up to around 200W. They performed flawlessly and there was a lot left in the tank. I did enjoy the Loreena McKinnett DVD Pete; it was my favorite out of all the demos played.

Thanks again Sal for opening up your home as I had a blast, the only thing better was being able to talk shop and share ideas with everyone.

Hey Guys, as Bob pointed out we could do this at my house next time. . . . I will bring out my McIntosh equipment in their boxes and we could stare and think of the possibilities . . . . .not sure if Mike would drive down for this. Looks like I am going to have to make a call to Legend Audio. . . . . after listening to Bob and Sal’s systems, man talk about peer pressure to get mine completed.

Yeah, I confess! Actually it just kind of happened that way, but I have to admit it was a nice listening spot indeed!

Dan. . . . Pete was in the zone, I don't think a forklift would have been able to move him out of that chair!!

All a fella had to do was ask....but then I didn't offer did I?

I don't know that the couch would have sounded that much different...it wasn't very much farther back from the captain's chair. And from side to side, moving about the room I noticed the image held up very well off axis from the sweet spot-a sign of very well designed (and well placed) loudspeakers and room.

Pete, it is extremely painful!! I try to cover them up with stuff to hide the McIntosh name on the boxes. . .it helps to reduce the anxiety and the psychological trauma. :dazed-2:
