Need suggestion on cooling system
I have this fully loaded rack that will be housing GS150 and Ref. 6 to replace Mac system.
Would also be adding a phono amp. Will have about 5 inches clearance on top of GS150 and Ref. 6. Will run fans on GS at full speed. How ever the pre will need some cooling. Any suggestions, photos, make of the system?

Thank you, Vinod. The speakers are on Audio Mart. Wife felt they were too big for the room - and yes it is a small room.

Very nice, what about rigging up some sort of low noise PC fan with an AC/DC power adapter and place the fans(s) behind the units in the back to move some air?
OK the scythe fan quiet types Amazon has them, even in slim versions.Gentle Typhoon is very quiet and should be a enough air, but there are others that are pretty quiet and move a little more air too. And you will need something like this a Coolerguys 100-240v AC to 12 & 5v DC 4pin Molex 2A Power Adapter The fans are such that you can run them in series and run a lot since they are very low draw etc. I did something like this for some parasound class amps I use to run and made a nice looking box and put a grill guard on the fans too. OK search to for 120 mm fan grills, Good luck, but this is a cheap small and quiet to do it. |

Markertek shows a one inch high fan built to sit on top of a component and pull the heat off. I had my McIntosh MC2255s in a tight space. I put two of these on each amp, and everything worked out fine. Try this link https://www.markertek.com/product/co...or-comp-cool-3.

If you look under Markerteck "Racks" listings under the Products drop-down menu, they have many more options.

IMO this is an excellent discussion topic! Heat as we know is a component's enemy, so how can we mitigate that as much as possible without putting them into a freezer? hehe
