Congratulations on the new amplifier. It is amazing how many members on here own Dan D'Agostino gear. Enjoy the moments. I am guessing that they will switch to the same dial and needle that is on the Progression amps albeit smaller for the faceplate? Those move easily when active. I once owned a Phase Linear 700B. That amp was cool to look at with the two VU meters bouncing.

Looking to get Momentum S250 ?
I am a current Krell owner (FPB 400cx) and wonder if I would notice much improvement replacing it with a Momentum S250?
(I would put my question in its own thread, but as I am new here, not allowed to to do that for a while ....). Thanks for sharing insights on what makes the S250 better than the older Krell. |

Absolute congrats on the new amp. I recently traded in my 1.2 KW's in for a pair of 1.25's. I had previously noted that the right channel needle was more sensitive than the left. I wondered if it was a calibration problem or a sensitivity problem. However my sound was balanced. Now with the 1.25 KW's the needles are perfect. Very interesting about the needles being so insensitive. I wonder why? Mac needles are amazingly sensitive. They move with even the slightest sound through the speakers. In listening to my Alexx, I seldom require more than just a few watts, almost never over 12 even at loud levels, typically between .012 and 1.2 watts. That's why even though with a very low impedance they are a relatively easy drive. It's very nice to know what the speakers are requiring, very difficult from the loudness of the music. In the morning when I turn the system on I find my ears are much more sensitive to loudness and I make sure to at least to have peaks of 1.2 watts. The needles really help in this.
