Don't wanna spam up this thread, but your posts have been helpful, Bill. I really need to get out and audition these speakers. However, I've read nothing but good things. My only concern over the XR50s would be the XR100s having too much bass as I live in a condo. My neighbor is quite forgiving, but I need to watch my volume level.

Ah.. Good thing with too much you can turn down "a knob" to reduce that.

Definitely go out an audition and then get them for less, here.

Glad I can help.

If you live close enough I have no problem with you coming over to listen to them. And yes these are the red ones.

I'm in Chicago, so unfortunately that's not possible. I will try to audition these at the same dealer where I purchased my current speakers. It's hard to get a clear sense of how a speaker will perform in a different room with a different system, but better than nothing I suppose.

Trey:

I see your location is listed as "South East Texas" How far south and east, as in how many miles from DFW? It's a long way to get anywhere in Texas, but I'm very curious (and that scares me).

Yes, that's just a wee bit more of a drive then I would like to make, LOL! I wouldn't mind someone trying these in their home. Would just have to assume full responsibility.

I can be in the Dallas city limits in a few minutes over four hours. Lived in the DFW area for four years while going doing my undergrad work there.

$500 price drop plus a special offer on all three XR100s if one purchases all three.

Trey, I am going to pitch the idea of rebuilding the single XR100 into a sealed enclosure that would fit under my screen and putting a "matching" set of XR100s in the rear of the living room to Sarah...

I would drive to El Paso and deliver them myself if you did that ;-)
