They do (e.g. DC-901 0db to -80dB), but
"Digital level control provided in Accuphase CD player is for the purpose of precision attenuation in digital domain, and not for total volume control."

IMHO the bottom line is: always use an analog preamp, preferably with AAVA.

The volume control is in the digital domain of 1db steps. I set mine at 0db. I also read somewhere that a pre-amp is needed from any Accuphase source, even with one that has a volume control.
