Default P10 heat

Hello,

Seeking feedback on how much heat the newer p10 power regeneration units produce. Do not want to cook equipment above it in a rack if it gets hot.

Thanks in advance.

Mine has been powering my entire system, 2 tube amplifier and all my front end equipment. It gets warm enough where the heat sinks on the side are close to being uncomfortable to the touch. I wouldn’t put mine in a rack without a fan and lots of breathing room in front and back.

Hello - What is the average load the P10 is addressing in your system?

I’m not sure what it was. I recently gave both amps their own 20 AMP line and have started listening that way. Not sure I can tell the difference as other changes happened at the same time. Next week, I will reconnect the Amps to the P10 and listen.

My P10 sits on its own on top of a cabinet containing LPs, between the wall outlet and my rack. That way it has free space and air around it and never gets very hot.

My entire front end is connected to a P10 (preamp, sacd player, master clock generator, bluray player).
The display shows a 7% load, my P10 runs cold all the time.
My Pass X600 monoblock's are plugged directly to the wall outlet.
Best
Pablo

I plug in all components for my own reasons and the load on average is 30% pulling 3-4 amps and gets faintly warm, your hand can stay on the fins indefinitely

Default P10 heat

With just my front end - PreAmp, SilenZio, crossover, Master clock, SACD player - and Powered sub, the load is 15% and warm but not hot. That would probably be okay in a well ventilated rack.

With the Amps added, the load goes to 69% and that is when it gets hot, ALMOST uncomfortable to touch but you can still hold it.

Have you reached out to PS Audio for their suggestions and input?
