Default Rock of Ages

Saw Rock of Ages today. Not great film but it was very enjoyable. The story line was similar to the play but they added quite a few songs. Cruise did a good job and his singing was okay.

Julianne Hough did a good nice jog and easy on the eyes.

Hi Jim,
My best friend went to this last night and said it was awful. He likes chick flicks though, so I don't always trust his opinion as his taste is quite a bit different than mine. I'm glad you enjoyed it and maybe I'll give it a try. Would you slap down $10.00 to see this movie knowing what you know now about it or would you try something else?

Hey movies on the weekends here only cost $5. The movie isn't going to win any awards but the music was well done. Hough and Mary J Bligh did a good jog with "Shadow of the Night/Harden My Heart" and a couple of others. Cruise was pretty over the top with "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Wanted Dead or Alive". It starts off slow but finished pretty good. Bottom line, for me it was a fun afternoon.

It was surely a younger audience than normally goes to plays. If that is what it takes to get a new generation of people into the theater I have no issue with it.

Thanks Jim. We've been talking about going. We may give it a try.

I agree, and the song arrangements and the CD suck too.

Are the movie soundtrack and song arrangements any better?

I'm going to wait and rent the movie with these mixed reviews coming in. Wound up purchasing Rock Star with Marky Mark and Jennifer Anniston after renting first, will probably end up buying Rock of Ages too :-)
