John,
Glad that you enjoying the new gear... No doubt, you have moved to a different level. As good as the 501's are, they can't compete on this level. |

That's why I like the 911 Mk.3 so much. Best amp I've ever had the pleasure of using. A lot of other great stuff out there (i'm pretty fond of the 1.2kw's too) but the Burmester really takes it to another level WITHOUT tubes. Amazing.
John, for what it's worth, the Sim 750 is very good! Been using that for a couple months now and very impressed! |

I've have come up for air. I'm still unbelieveable impress with the sound stage huge. The detail at low volume is fantastic. Now I'm trying to decide whether to do buy a demo Burmester 061 or Sim audio 750 transport or stay with MDA/MCD. I wish I could compare these two to the MDA/MCD combo.

John,
Of course comparing would be best... I would think that the Burmester would have a certain synergy with the other pieces... and of course the visual aesthetic, if that is important to you. Please keep up posted as it continues to settle into your system. Stephen |

Well I’ve been a busy lately with my new setup. Andy from Sound by Singer has been excellent to work with. I got a call last week from him stating that he had demo Burmester 011 pre amp for sale. Also if I wanted the 011 I could send back the Burmester 035. Besides the 011 being a better preamp then the 035 internally, the price was right and I was also able to squeeze out excellent deal on a demo Burmester 948 power conditioner. Now I’m 75 % their. The MDA1000/MCD1000 is doing an excellent job still but I’m currently researching now the Ayre CXeMP, Simaudio 750, Esoteric x-01 D2 and the Burmester 011 (changed my mine about the 061). All great players with different strengths. As of right now the speed and micro detail at very low volume levels is still amazes me. As I wait for my stereo cabinet to be built the old wall unit looks deserted with all the mac gear gone.

Congratulations on this superb setup. Give the Burmester CD player a serious consideration as it will be synergistic to your other components.
How are you liking the change in sound? Any listening fatigue issue? There were reports on Burmester having metallic and dry sound. Would like to know your thoughts on this. Quote:
