Well, that AQ description is no help. No wire gauge info.

From amazon....

Three 15AWG stranded Long Grain Copper (LGC) conductors
Semi-Solid Concentric Packed arrangement
Significantly reduced strand interaction distortion
Greater purity and less complicated grain structure further reduces distortion
Helical relationship between the conductors further reduces distortion

The W4S is 14AWG, but the AudioQuest is LGC.... I think the AQ is probably best on the amp and the W4S will go to the REL and the Teac, which is 16AWG will go to backup status ..

Agreed. Put the highest gauge wire on the unit that draws the most power, i.e., the amp.

Well the W4S is 14 Gauge and the AQ is 15 Gauge, however I think the AQ is a bit better cable, LGC etc. I think I will stick with the AQ on the amp and the W4S on the REL sub amp.

The highest gauge I have seen available in a very small, not extensive, search is W4S has an 11 Gauge power cable available .... and Cullen Cable has 10 Gauge available....

Like taking your car to the mechanic. Now they are there. I was using my iPad, maybe that has something to do with it.
In either case, you have a nice system. Do you think you'll continue to hold out on vinyl?

Yea, it would be far too hard to rebuild a vinyl collection again... and I am very happy with HD and DSD downloads... certainly for now

And thank you! Getting there....

OK, a nice improvement for very little money, the Rothwell Attenuators arrived today. They were order from England. I was told they are the best. I now have much more control at lower volume levels. Where 17 was sounding rather loud now it is more like 28-30 on the W4S volume display.

Also, since the volume is not always hovering in its very low settings the pre-amp opens up considerably.

If anyone has any issues where the system gets too loud too fast and very small control at low volume these work real nice! Seem to be very transparent and if anything better sounding since the pre-amp can open up a bit!

This is exactly what the reviews were saying about them.

Yamaki got this thing in my head about building a music server using a computer instead of my Surface. Since I have been using my Laptop as my main computer I took my Falcon Northwest Tiki and made it into a super high end music server. It is compact, mounted on a granite base, stocked full of water cooling, gtx980 graphics, SSD; pretty much decked....

I tried using the Surface as a controller, and it definitely worked, however, I didn't like the way that I had to drag out a monitor every time I rebooted or the Surface disconnected, etc. So I moved the 28" 4k Asus monitor on top of the rack. The cool thing is the entire thing can be controlled by a Logitech T650 touch pad (5" x 5" I think) from across the room...

I totally blame Michael ... but it did come out pretty dam cool....

Randy.......This system is losing it's "ultra compact" status fast. In fact, it's gone.

Might be time to begin considering the KEF Blade TWO's.
