The D150/MCT450 combo is about the price of the 550, is it not?

What are you prefer - CDs listening via DIN or Coax output?

Both ways sound terrific imo!

Maybe the DIN output is slightly better!

I use a Straight Wire Data Link II on my Coax output, which is on the warmer side soundwise!

Your thoughts are welcome

Just checking in, how is the MCT450 holding up for you lucky owners?

Getting ready to make the plunge myself and interested in your thoughts.

Also, does it recognize HDCD?

thanks,
Ron

Ron.......Neither the McIntosh MCT450 brochure or the MCT450 Owner's Manual make mention of HDCD. This leads me to believe the MCT450 will not decode the HDCD flag.

I am gonna take the plunge. Just need to sell one of my Gibson Historic guitars first to keep "the boss" happy. The sacrifices we make!

Any opinions on the MCT450 vs some other transport into D100/D150? I understand that D100 doesn't support DSD but thinking primarily about the transport comparison. I have an Oppo 105 so does the MCT450 offer any advantages?
