Difference between 28SST versus 28 Cubed 3

Hi James . I am sure you have been asked this . Can you advise the difference between the above.I used to own the 28BSSTs , thinking of going back to the 28s. Thanks

Although directed at James; I used to own the 28BSST’s. The 28B Cubed are absolutely in another class.

I have them in one of my Reference Rigs driving TAD R1’s. I am amazed every time I play them.

Hi

The new 28B Cubed is designed around the new circuit we got a patent on so it has an improved noise floor and much lower distortion on its input section.

The distortion is below what the best of the test gear can measure and the noise floor is at the theoretical limit of today's best component parts.

I think this translates to as neutral an amplifier available today regardless of price (assuming that's what you are looking for in your system of course).

Hi Stefan

That's a good question - I know they are Plitron transformers in the SST but I do not think they are the new versions with the magnetic field storage capabilities of the Cubed version of the 28B
