Thanks for the kind comments. It was a wonderful evening. My first visit to the Ryman, which is a great venue, indeed! The Sadies were first up, and phenomenal from the start. They are a very polished act, and wonderful performers, aside from their musicianship. Definitely top notch. I would go see them as headliners or by themselves. Kurt Vile took a couple of songs to warm up before his voice and playing reached peak but he was outstanding too. I saw Bob Dylan here in Huntsville, right after he was awarded the Nobel, and he took a few songs to warm up, so I’ll cut Kurt some slack. What was nice to see was the reciprocal collegiality and friendship between Kurt’s Band and the Sadies. They each played with the other for at least 3 songs, which was superb! I’ve included a few pics. All in all it was a very fun night, and live music always provides some perspective and appreciation for what this hobby is all about.

Best,
Shrinky

Getting kinda excited to hear Mahler - Symphony No. 5 tonight at the venue the Cleveland Orchestra typically plays at - Severance Hall.

The Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra is performing, with guest conductor Robert Spano...

I’m almost on concert overload. Went to week 2 of the New Orleans where we got to be onstage with Dave Matthews and saw many great bands including Tom Jones and a killer set by the Mavericks! Came home and got row 3 centre tickets to Elvis Costello and Neil Young. Both were great!IMG_6555.jpgIMG_6807.jpgIMG_6828.jpg

Great stuff Slimbo. New Orleans must have been a blast. We saw the Mavericks at Chateau Ste Michelle Winery in Woodinville last summer and they put on an incredible show.

Even though they had lesser billing in New Orleans they were the highlight for me they ended with a surprising but killer “Back in the USSR”

Dead & Company @ Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA

My last Dead show was Jerry's final performance back in the summer of 1995. July 9, 1995 @ Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois. I moved out to California 6 months later. Although this was a different line-up (And it was kinda sad without Jerry) it was still a fantastic show. The sound was great, and so was the vibe. My wife followed the Dead during summers in college & she thinks she saw around 80 shows during the late 80's & early 90's. I went to maybe 12 or so during that time when they came to town. Bottom line "There's nothing in the world like a Grateful Dead show"

We decided to take our 11 yr old daughter and 13 yr old son. It was their first concert, and what a better one than last night's performance. They had a blast.

Set List 06/01/2019

Bob Weir

Default Dessa

We just got back from seeing Dessa at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ. Nice, comfortable 300 seat venue. Dessa put on a fantastic performance.
